Katharine asks…
“Trying to set up a slider on the InfoWay theme front page. The instructions say we only need to choose a tag. I did that. Then tagged one of my posts. It formed the slider and included the name of the post, but not an image. Is it because I had five images on that post? If so, how can i fix?”
It looks like you’ve followed all the setup steps except assigning a Featured Image on the post. The image size should ideally be 950px x 363px. When you’re editing the post, the Featured Image section is in the right-hand sidebar, probably at the bottom.
If you can’t see it, you may need to click Screen Options (top right) and then check the Featured Image box. It should then appear on the sidebar.
Here’s InfoWay’s official support page for anyone looking for more details…

All the best,

Me, again!
I am trying to take a post OFF the Infoway theme slider. I’ve removed the feature image (which makes the slider look really cruddy) and I’ve removed the “slider” tag it did have, but the slider still features the post, without the image, as if I forgot something…
Thanks so much for your many efforts in the past. Your site was high on my google search. :)
Okay, just accidentally solved that one. Simply slip over to the customizer and it just fixes itself. Ha! Whew! (Is Infoway a typically problematic theme? Wish I could get my money back—it is so hard to work with!
Now. Since I just installed it, I have the meta widget appearing, but even if I go to the widget page from admin, I canNOT remove it. Same for the archive widget, which is a mile long on this old site. Grr. What IS it with Infoway?
Hi Katharine, I’m not too familiar with Infoway but all themes should behave in a similar way. However, if there are no widgets in the sidebar, I believe some themes will display certain widgets by default — namely Search, Archives and Meta. It sounds like that may have been what was happening to you with Infoway. I talk more about that here:

It looks like you’ve switched to the Sela theme now? The site looks great anyway :-)
Best wishes,
James
Thanks, Jim! I was at Sela, and I toy with Infoway occasionally. This time, I could NOT get the archive and the meta widgets off and when I returned to Sela, ALL my former widgets were gone. Totally gone. I had to recreate them. I have never been able to get Infoway to work right, and it has no edit link. If it were not for the button that (sometimes) appears in the lower right, I’d have to go through admin and find the post, to edit it. I never did like that! I think the theme is just broken. Anyway, thanks for your time. I just could not get it to work, so went back. I think my Sela is too colorful, right now, but would have to get my artist to change color on the logo, if I changed. She can do that, as I told her to create it is layers for that reason. Whew! So much to know! :D
Thanks, again!
No worries :-)
